High-speed parallel-feed planetary stranding and cabling machine

Company News 2026-08-17

To meet the high-speed data transmission requirements of data centers, AI high-speed server interconnects, 5G, and big data applications, we have developed a specialized AI high-speed parallel-pair planetary stranding machine. This machine is designed for stranding multiple pairs of flat signal cables (such as QSFP and SFP types). It features a specially designed stranding cone/shuttle mechanism that prevents the flat cables from twisting or flipping during the stranding process, thereby ensuring durability and preventing fatigue failure in high-density data center cabling environments. We offer personalized customization to meet diverse customer requirements; regarding hardware, clients can choose from various machine models and core component brands, while electrical control systems are available in options ranging from economical to advanced configurations. As the machine price varies significantly based on the overall configuration, the final cost is primarily determined by the customer's chosen product specification level. Furthermore, since this is a non-standard, custom-made product manufactured in small batches, the cycle for design, fabrication, installation, and commissioning is relatively long; customers should allow sufficient lead time to ensure timely delivery.

Product Features

To meet the rigorous signal integrity requirements of 112G/224G PAM4 high-speed interconnects within AI computing clusters and data centers, manufacturers of high-speed DAC cables (such as QSFP-DD and OSFP) face significant technical challenges—including impedance fluctuations, return loss, and mechanical fatigue caused by dense cabling layouts. This specialized mass-production machine—designed for high-speed cabling of parallel-pair wires—addresses these high-frequency transmission pain points. Its core advantages lie in three key areas:

1. Dynamic tension control ensuring consistent electrical performance: The system utilizes precision servo-driven pay-off units to maintain constant dynamic tension across multiple parallel wire pairs during high-speed cabling. By minimizing tension fluctuations, the system effectively prevents microscopic tensile deformation of the insulation layer, ensuring that the finished cable’s characteristic impedance and skew strictly adhere to high-frequency transmission standards.

2. Specialized conical stranding shuttle eliminating "edge-flipping" in flat pairs: Addressing the tendency of flat wire pairs (Twinax) to twist or misalign (flip) during stranding, the machine is equipped with a specially designed conical stranding shuttle. This component provides progressive guidance to the wire pairs before the stranding point, locking their position to prevent flipping; this ensures uniform stress distribution across the cable profile and eliminates physical stress concentrations caused by edge deformation.

3. Elimination of internal structural stress during cabling: This process enhances the finished cable's resistance to bending and fatigue failure—critical for the confined, high-density routing environments found in data centers—thereby significantly extending the physical structural lifespan during long-term operation.
